If you thought your litle 7-megapixel Canon/Sony digital camera was taking high-res pictures, you were cereally wrong. Photographer David Bergman has made an incredible panorama image of Barack Obama's inauguration ceremony, consisting of 220 Canon G10 images stitched together, for a total resolution of 1,474 megapixels and a file size of almost 2 gigabytes.
If this means nothing to you, click on the above link and have a look. From a viewpoint where almost the entire audience is visible, you can zoom in and see every face. The sheer logistics of this are mind-boggling!
